Ducommun Incorporated, a global manufacturing company, has donated $21,250 to RMHC of the Capital Region to support community-based Coronavirus Pandemic Relief
The Ducommun Foundation has generously donated $21,250 to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region as we continue to provide support for families with children facing serious health challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are happy to contribute as the Company wants to support the local communities in which we live and work. On behalf of Ducommun Incorporated and our Coxsackie, New York Performance Center, we are pleased to make this donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region,” said Stephen G. Oswald, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Founded in 2019, The Ducommun Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Ducommun Incorporated that addresses community-based and humanitarian needs. Since February 2020, The Ducommun Foundation has donated more than $1 million to local U.S. charities that support families and individuals most impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19).
RMHC-CR has always been deeply committed to the health and well-being of children, families and the greater Capital Region community. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, we remain focused on fulfilling our mission and serving families with love and compassion as we have for more than 38 years.
Since mid-March, RMHC-CR has been covering the costs of hotel accommodations and professionally-prepared meals to minimize exposure risks for families with sick children. Though the Albany Ronald McDonald House is currently in Phase 2 of a four-phase re-opening and has resumed admitting guest families in limited numbers, we will continue to provide hotels through Phase 3 in order to meet individual family needs.
Meanwhile, the Ronald McDonald Family Room within the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med has been re-purposed during the pandemic to provide respite and comfort to hospital personnel. The RMHC-CR Hospitality Cart continues operating daily to provide coffee, snacks and comfort items to children, families and medical professionals at the children’s hospital. Support from The Ducommun Foundation and other partners ensures that we are able to fulfill our commitment to every family in need as RMHC-CR confronts the significant financial impacts of COVID-19.
