Our Mission
Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region draws on the compassion of our community to deliver and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.
Our programs, which include the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room, and Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage, focus on the critical needs of children and their families. We help those facing serious health challenges stay close to each other and the care they need, and we bring quality health care resources to areas where they are needed most.
Our Vision
RMHC of the Capital Region is a catalyst for creating a world where all children have access to quality medical care and their families are lovingly supported to be active participants in their children’s care.
We continually work toward this vision through strategic partnerships within the Capital Region. We collaborate especially with hospitals, schools, and businesses that are invested in addressing the unique needs of children undergoing serious medical treatment. Our efforts depend on more than 200 volunteers who bring love and support to families — strengthening our core programs and developing new services in response to families’ needs. Thanks to financial support from many individuals and businesses in our community, all RMHC services are provided completely free of charge to families during their time of need.

Where to Find Us
The Albany Ronald McDonald House serves as the home base for all RMHC-CR programs and services. The House is located at 139 S. Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
From the South
Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 23. Bear right off the exit. At the light, turn left onto Southern Boulevard/Route 9W. Proceed for approximately 1 mile. At the end of Southern Boulevard, turn right onto Delaware Avenue. Turn left onto Holland Avenue and proceed 2 blocks. Albany Medical Center will be directly in front of you. Turn left onto New Scotland Avenue, then take the first right onto South Lake Avenue. Proceed 2.5 blocks. The house will be on your left.
From the North, East and West
Take I-787 South (Albany) to the Madison Avenue exit. Travel west on Madison Avenue for approximately 1 mile. Take a left onto New Scotland Avenue. Go 2 blocks past Albany Medical Center on your right, and take a right onto South Lake Avenue. Proceed 2.5 blocks. The house will be on your left.
