24 Apr Celebrating Five Years of the RMHC Comfort Cart
The RMHC Comfort Cart, in partnership with Broadview Federal Credit Union, operates within the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med to extend the hospitality of the Family Room directly to patients’ bedsides as it travels through the PICU, General Pediatrics and the NICU, including the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Massry Family Children’s Emergency Center.
Frequently themed to highlight special days and events, the Comfort Cart is stocked with coffee, snacks, books, and personal care items. From the Comfort Cart, families can access all the amenities available within the Family Room without ever leaving their child’s side.
Since May 2020, 44 volunteers have dedicated over 1,800 hours to serve nearly 16,000 adults, children, and medical professionals from the Comfort Cart… And we’re just getting started!
