As a part of READ for Ronald McDonald House, we are excited to offer opportunities for our participating schools to engage with a variety of talented local authors. Schools are encouraged to reach out to authors directly for questions and scheduling. Please note that Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region does not screen author content for inclusion in our resources. While we are happy to facilitate connections between our READ for Ronald McDonald House schools and area authors, schools are responsible for assessing and approving that the content provided by any of the authors is appropriate for their population.

Authors are encouraged to share book order forms with schools prior to scheduled visits. Schools are asked to distribute order forms to students/families at least 1 week prior to the author visit and to provide an estimated number of ordered books to the author prior to the visit to help ensure that an adequate number of books will be available the day of the author visit. Schools should coordinate with the author for the amount of notice needed for orders to be provided on the day of the visit.
