About the Author:

A lost dog’s four-day ordeal sparked an unexpected journey—writing a picture book! Author, photographer, and entrepreneur Elizabeth Macy lives in her hometown of Saratoga Springs, NY. Inspired by her love for her fur baby, Lucky, and her passion for rescue pets, she created Lucky’s Adventures—a heartwarming series that now includes three picture books and a newly released chapter book. She enjoys creating meaningful adventures for children to experience and treasure, and especially loves visiting schools with Lucky to encourage a love of reading and writing. Students are always excited to meet the star of the books—Lucky, who sits proudly in her stroller during the presentation.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, Elizabeth shares the writing process, story inspiration, and how picture books come to life. Themes like kindness, gratitude, friendship, teamwork, acceptance, and community are woven into each session and adapted to the grade level and book selected.
