Holding Hands Holding Hearts Graphic with family silhouette under autumn tree

Special Thanks to Our Sponsors

All October long, we have been sharing stories that have captured our hearts here at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. The Salomon family was first introduced to RMHC-CR in 2015, when their infant son required care in the neonatal intensive care unit at Albany Med. Like approximately 50% of the families we serve, the Salomons learned about the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room while their baby was in the NICU. They didn’t know then that their teenage daughter, Kaitlin, would later be diagnosed with leukemia, and that RMHC-CR would soon become an even more significant part of their lives.

For three years, Kaitlin lived at “The House That Love Built” while going through treatment at Albany Med. This past summer, her family was among the first to stay at the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage in Lake George. In the video below, Kaitlin shares what RMHC-CR has meant to her on her journey from cancer diagnosis to remission…
