About the Author: Maryellen B. Wander Eyer grew up on Long Island enjoying the beaches and waves. Her mother’s family is from Vermont. Consequently, she grew up spending many hours in the Green Mountains at the base of Mount Mansfield; her grandfather’s favorite mountain. She currently lives in the Capital District area of New York snugly between the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. She teaches in a local school district and is raising three sons with her husband, Steve. Her favorite activities are sharing the woods and the outdoors with others.

Type of visit(s) available: In person, Live virtual, pre-recorded
Visit details: Visit includes a book reading, an activity to work with a compass and a discussion regarding what kinds of items are important to take with you on the trail. A live or
virtual visit includes a half hour of presentation and activity and 10 minutes of questions. Total presentation time including reading is an hour.
Read for RMHC discounted visit fee: No charge for visits
Availability: After 3pm (evenings), weekends, school breaks or summers. Availability during the week – the week of January 24th.
