About the Author: Anthony Richichi is an award-winning children’s book illustrator and painter residing in upstate New York and has made his author debut with the book series Colorworld. The book tells the story of a little boy named Henry who finds the magical power to bring his drawings and art to life. With this newfound magic he is able to travel through his drawings and imagination giving him a newfound confidence and limitless adventures right at his fingertips. Anthony is currently working with the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls on adapting the Colorworld book into a live-action main stage play that he has written.

Visit details: Visit entails a book reading of Colorworld as well as a “show-and-tell” of a pair of paintings and the bass guitar that are illustrated in the book (they are hung up on the walls of the character’s bedroom) to prompt discussion about art-making and being a creator. Following the reading, a coloring activity sheet is provided that is similar to the cover of the book where students can color in their own Colorworld and invent their own characters and friends. Visit can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the length of time provided for the coloring activity.
