Join RMHC of the Capital Region as we kick off another year of our #READforRMHC program, celebrating the joy of reading and raising funds for children and families in need.
Each year, in partnership with local schools, libraries, and caring individuals, RMHC of the Capital Region runs a unique, reading-based community service program known as READ for RMHC-CR. Through this program, participants as young as three years old are offered the opportunity to turn their love of reading into a tangible way to help sick and injured children and their families.
As a new school year begins, we’re inviting friends and supporters across our region (and beyond!) to join us for an exciting virtual event — the Rainbow Read Run! Help us celebrate the READ for RMHC-CR program and the hundreds of readers who participate each year. Sign up and complete a colorful fun run/walk of any distance, from any location, anytime during the month of September. All registrants will receive a printable participant bib and access to the Rainbow Read Run Facebook Group where you can share photos, stories, encouragement and highlights from your personal Rainbow Read Run with others!
To help you get as creative and colorful as possible, we invite you to stop by the Ronald McDonald House (located at 139 S. Lake Avenue in Albany) for a free bucket of sidewalk chalk from our friends at Hannaford. Chalk is available for pickup every day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while supplies last.
Registration will remain open through September 30. Sign up now to gain immediate access to all our virtual event content!
