URGENT: COVID-19 Two Ways You Can Help

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC-CR) is committed to providing clean and healthy family-centered spaces for families to rest, recharge and connect with one another around the world.
The health and well-being of our guest families, staff and the communities in which we serve is, and always will be, our first priority. Therefore, in order to prevent exposure and the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we are temporarily suspending acceptance of new families into Ronald McDonald House® programs. We remain focused on our core mission of providing overnight accommodations, meals and support for the families currently staying at our Houses. In addition, we are working closely with the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center to temporarily re-purpose RMHC in-hospital program spaces (Ronald McDonald Family Room® program) to provide places of respite for healthcare professionals who are tirelessly working the frontlines of this pandemic.
We will continue to monitor the evolving COVID-19 situation and follow the guidance and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), local State Departments, local hospital partners and Health Ministries.
As a non-profit organization, we rely on volunteers and donors like you to help deliver our mission. Here are two easy ways you can help:
1) Make a Gift
As a result of the pandemic, we have had to suspend our volunteer programs, which help to provide meals for the families we serve, and cancel fundraising events. These changes will have a significant impact on our operating budget and we need your help to continue to serve families through this challenging time. Visit rmhcofalbany.org to make a gift. Your investment is critical as we continue to care for families during this uncertain and challenging time.
2) Contact Your Representatives
RMHC has joined more than 200 other major nonprofit organizations to ask Congress to include $60 billion for charities in the COVID-19 Relief and Economic Stimulus Package. Please visit whoismyrepresentative.com to find your representatives and express your support for a stimulus package that incorporates funding for nonprofits.
With your support, we are incredibly grateful to be able to keep families together and close to the resources they need.

With gratitude,

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region
